2012 EVENTS - AND WHAT A YEAR IT WAS!
April 25, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.: On behalf of the Prairie Garden Committee I did a presentation on Iris at the McNally Robinson Book Store in Grant Park, on April 25, 2012 (They have gardening talks the last Wednesday of every month). My talk was titled: "IRIS CONFIDENTIAL: SECRETS TO EIGHT WEEKS OF BLOOMIN' IRIS".
If you were unable to attend the event, you can view the slide show by clicking here. It is a power point presentation, touching mainly on Median Iris, and how, with careful planning, a gardener can expect to have eight or nine weeks of iris blooms! There are also instructions for proper planting and care of iris, and a short introduction on some of the lesser known types (spuria) and what new crosses will hopefully be available through Canadian sources in the near future (pseudata, sibtosa).
